Quality Engineer

We are looking for a responsible Quality Engineer to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Quality Manager to formulate, document and maintain quality control standardsand on-going quality control objectives
  • Provide, oversee, and inspect quality of parts throughout production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.Review and approve corrective actions
  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Perform internal audits
  • Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities
  • Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality
  • Use basic measuring equipment for inspection (caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, gauge blocks,height gauge, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office and computer literate
  • Visual inspection of optical surfaces per MIL standards
  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product andsupplies
  • Programming Coordinate Measuring Machine
  • First Article Inspections
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testingfunctionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defectiveproducts per day etc.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply withsafety standards
  • Maintain the calibration system
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’tmeet the requirement.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager
  • Environmental testing
  • Conduct internal quality audits

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • CMM experience
  • Previous experience in quality/mechanical inspection
  • ISO auditing skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Identify problems and report them to the appropriate supervisor
  • Maintain quality records and report accurate and complete information in paperwork
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
  • Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant role
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Understanding of basic mechanical inspection
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Understanding of ISO9001 quality systems and requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $75,000.00 per year
