IT Engineer

We are looking to hire an experienced Information Technology Engineer to manage our company’s computer systems. As an IT Engineer, you will be responsible for designing hardware configurations, installing software, managing network systems, and training staff on the correct operating procedures. As well as various other technical activities necessary for ensuring an efficient and operational computer systems or network, including conducting analysis of the organizations computer systems to identify and fix performance bugs.

To ensure success as an IT engineer, you should have extensive experience maintaining, large-scale computer systems, the ability to project manage, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Ultimately, a top-level IT Engineer can design and maintain a dynamic and stable system to perfectly meet the needs of the company.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation and repair of computer or tech equipment for business establishments.
  • Oversee the connection and setup of local area or wide area networks for an organization or client.
  • Create, layout and design of websites.
  • Responsible for the security and integrity of an organization’s information database (ensuring protocols are implemented).
  • Design and implement processes for ensuring efficient IT operations in an organization.
  • Troubleshoot/analyze computer systems to identify and eliminate performance bugs and hardware malfunction.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair or replacement of computer units or other technological components and the safe disposal of legacy equipment.
  • Run quality checks on products/programs to ensure optimal and efficient performance.
  • Ensure the security of an organization’s IT database by performing backups and updating security protocol.
  • Design new information and network support systems to enhance IT operations in an organization.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure IT systems and equipment are operational.
  • Install and configure IT systems such as local area networks and wide area networks.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to management on processes and techniques required for improved work operations.
  • Conduct surveys and research to identify areas that require improvement and ways to achieve desired improvement.
  • Provide support and training to the company’s user base to resolve any issues they might encounter.
  • Familiarity with AWS services particularly FSx and EC2.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and procedures related to CMMC (Cybersecurity Mature Model Certification).

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field
  • Familiarity with general Windows OS systems, Enterprise, programming languages, and Office software. The candidate should hold the appropriate windows certifications.
  • Ability to project manage
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complete software and hardware issues

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of database and networking security systems
  • Extensive knowledge of configuring and maintaining ERP systems (PLX use Epicor E10)
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware systems
  • Knowledge of LAN and wireless networks
