In applications where the major beam must be aligned with two or more other optical axes, a multiple configuration of LTHRs and LTHPs is required.
Our new video demonstration on PLX's Rotary Movement DeviceTM (RMD) system. Learn how the RMD system substantially increases accuracy and efficiency in the harshest conditions.
The PLX RMD is available in two different packages, RMD type A(RMDA) and RMD type B(RMDB), the RMDA is available in a motorized version (RMDAM). PLX provides the RMD integrated into your choice of LTHP and LTHR. In this configuration, the exiting beam position can be constantly adjusted to any given distance from the entrance beam.
This can be achieved by the use of the PLX RMD to attach two or more instruments at their respective entrance and exit apertures. In this configuration, the exiting beam position can be constantly adjusted to any given distance from the entrance beam while maintaining sub-arcsecond accuracy, even under harsh environmental conditions.
The following are representative examples:
Boresighting:
Allowing multiple detectors or imagers to be accurately aligned to a single target for applications in Electro-optic directors and targeting systems.
Laser beam delivery:
When used within the Articulated Arm Beam Delivery System (AABM), a laser beam can be delivered accurately to any point in 3D space. This could be used in laser machine/engraving applications or optical inspection such as interferometry and flatness measurements.
