About PLX

PLX is dedicated to finding practical solutions to complex optical problems. We provide solutions for optical systems where interferometer-quality wavefronts and great optical stability are essential. Companies and governments worldwide count on our optics and our expertise to meet seemingly impossible optical requirements in critical military, aerospace, industrial and medical applications.

Regardless of your application, PLX engineers, who are specifically trained and experienced in optical, laser and imaging systems, work closely with you to adapt PLX technology to your requirements.  We’re there with you at every stage of the prototyping, pre-production, and production phases of your project to ensure success and reliability. And, because PLX has extensive in-house manufacturing and environmental testing facilities, performance testing capabilities, and state-of-the-art optical analysis equipment, we provide total quality management and accountability.

About PLX Products

PLX designs and manufactures complex monolithic optical structures that achieve and maintain state of the art accuracy, even in the harshest environments. The technology that enables these devices is mature, exceptionally innovative and unique to PLX. It’s what allows our products to pass tests that instruments made by others simply cannot.

We can make these innovative, exceptionally accurate monolithic optical assemblies from a variety of materials.  Low expansion optical glass, quartz and low expansion ceramics can be used where extremely high stability is required. For situations where weight is a primary concern, PLX has developed and patented light weight optics that can reduce weight by up to 70% without compromising performance. PLX can also utilize beryllium structures and highly accurate beryllium mirrors for lightweight applications where high conductivity and exceptional stiffness are required.

PLX provides a wide variety of optical mirror coatings to meet every application, including protected metallic coatings that meet all MIL-M-13508 requirements for durability and adhesion. Special coatings are also available for high-power laser applications and resistance to harsh outside environments.

At PLX, we apply our proprietary technology to a wide variety of seemingly impossible optical requirements. PLX instruments meet tough optical requirement in such diverse applications as spectroscopy, interferometry, boresighting, beam alignment and delivery, ultra-fast phenomena research, laser delay lines, military fire control, environmental monitoring, satellite ranging and laser resonators.

If you’re facing a difficult optical challenge, count on us to shed some light on the situation. Call PLX today at (631) 586-4190, fax us at (631) 586-4196, or e-mail us at info@plxinc.com.
